Beck Hansen’s new album is about ready to drop; net rumours place it being available before the end of June and Beck’s website is currently streaming “Chemtrails” off the upcoming album Modern Guilt.  

Like many people, I first heard Beck back in the early ’90s with his novelty hit “Loser”.   But, I decided to dig deeper and picked up the Mellow Gold album and have been a Beck convert since. 

I think his highpoints have been both Odelay and Sea Change
; the latter an outstanding piece of work that could possibly be considered a modern day Blood on the Tracks.  I’m looking forward to Modern Guilt and the “Chemtrails” track is an epic, trippy dense piece of music.   Beck teamed up with Danger Mouse (half of Gnarls Barkley) in producing the album.   Check out Beck live this summer if you can; he’ll be hitting many festivals in Europe and the USA; I hope to be able to get up to Madrid in early July to see him.
